ASAP History

The graph below illustrates the number of activity session blocks that ASAP has delivered since it was founded in 2005.

Blocks DeliveredThe range of blocks varies from year to year from 1 in 2005 to 10 in 2012.  We define a session block as a diet of activity that lasts for about five weeks with friendly competitions added to the mix after the first few weeks of training.

Schools Mapped

Over the years, we have offered a wide range of activities (Cross Country, 24 hour relays, Track, Flag Football, Soccer, Racketwall, Softball, Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, Tennis, History Projects and Basketball) in a wide range of locations (over a dozen schools in 7 local authorities see map right).  Our initial aim was to work with schools, however it is clear that secondary schools are very caught up, at the moment, with the Curriculum for Excellence.

Participants per YearOver the years we have provided about 1500 spaces for young people to engage in physical activity.  It should be highlighted that one child can participate more than once.

Volunteers by Year

We have mobilised over 150 volunteers to deliver our sessions.  Again, it should be highlighted that one volunteer may be counted more than once.
